Wedlock

This is a word of limited usage. I have trouble invisioning a bride blissfully embracing padlock...er, gridlock...um, wedlock. Just not a positive sounding word. Rather confining.
The only use I know of this word is "born out-of-wedlock". So people who are not married must be ..."out of wedlock!"
Will everyone who is out of wedlock please stand up?
We have whole organizations for out of wedlocks, so they can meet each other and socialize and ...and...even, reproduce!
We need a movement here to stop this proliferation of out of wedlock people!
We need a constitutional ammendment!!
This is a national crisis!!
